Course Description
This FREE course is designed for our dedicated professional colleagues who support families and their children through feeding challenges every day. Think of it as a heartfelt pep talk just for you. The field of pediatric feeding has come a long way since Marsha Dunn Klein first entered it in the early seventies—and it continues to evolve rapidly. We're not the same field we were even just two or three years ago.
As an occupational therapist who has walked alongside you for over five decades, Marsha deeply understands how the field continues to grow and improve with advancing knowledge, experience, and research. She believes that some of the most powerful drivers of recent change include our expanding understanding of responsive feeding, the valuable insights from individuals with lived experiences, and the growing approaches to supporting autistic individuals in more inclusive and affirming ways.
Join Marsha Dunn Klein as we look at evolving ideas about sensory processing at mealtimes and interoception, neurodiversity and neurodiversity affirming care, trauma and trauma informed care, motivation and autonomy, pressure and safety at mealtimes.
In this 2 hour LIVE webinar, you will learn to:
-
List ten ways we are shifting our thinking in pediatric feeding
-
Describe the evolution of responsive feeding historically and its influence on current trends in feeding
-
Describe five ways we can expand our feeding approach to incorporate sensitive awareness of the uniqueness, diversity, a sensory and emotional preferences and felt safety and intrinsic motivation in support of each child and family
