Course Description
Back-to-school season can bring excitement, but for families of selective eaters, it often comes with worry, stress, and uncertainty. Will my child eat? Will they be hungry all day? What if their teacher doesn't understand?
In this practical and encouraging course, you'll learn how to support school lunch success through a responsive feeding lens that prioritizes safety, connection, and autonomy over pressure and compliance. Drawing from the principles of the Get Permission Approach and nervous system-informed feeding practices, this course helps parents, educators, and professionals better understand why eating at school can be challenging and what truly supports lasting progress.
Together, we'll explore the hidden sensory, social, emotional, and motor demands of school mealtimes, learn how to create lunchboxes that build confidence, and identify small, meaningful shifts that promote food exploration without increasing stress. You'll also gain tools for collaborating with teachers, supporting regulation during mealtimes, and helping children develop the skills needed to navigate school lunches successfully.
In this 2 hour webinar, you will learn to:
-
Understand why school lunches can be challenging for selective eaters
-
Recognize the role of felt safety in eating and food exploration in a variety of settings
-

-
Support food exploration through autonomy and responsive feeding principles when a child is ready in the school environment
