Course Description

Mealtimes are time for communication, socialization, and enjoyment of food. They are times of conversation and family togetherness. When children have eating challenges, the mealtime can lose its balance.  Both children and parents may no longer enjoy the meal.  We will explore ways to help families find mealtime peace as a starting point for enjoyment, reconnection, and new food trying.

In this 2-hour webinar, you will learn to:

  • Define the concept of a mealtime

  • Help your families find mealtime peace as a starting point for change

  • Define Get Permission concepts of mealtime peace, change happens, new food trying, and circle of sensitivity

  • Understand enjoyment, confidence and internal motivation goals of eating with children

  • Describe the six components of mealtime peace: preparation, no-pressure zone, togetherness with success, clear expectations, food rehearsals, and trust

  • Integrate evidence from literature on family mealtimes into your practice
