Voices of Lived Experience:
Laura Hellfeld
This is a thoughtful conversation between Laura Hellfeld, an autistic nurse consultant and advocate for the neurodivergent community in multiple areas including feeding and eating and Marsha Dunn Klein an occupational therapist who has practiced in the world of pediatric feeding for over 5 decades. Marsha and Laura discuss how we as practitioners care for others best when we connect and learn from each other. Our different lived and work experiences are incredibly valuable in being able to meet the varied needs of the people who come to us for support. We also discuss many issues that influence feeding in those who have sensory and emotional processing differences. Laura helps us in the more traditional feeding therapy world to understand feeding through the lens of neurodiversity sensitive support.
